\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Climate Change, Forests, Environment, and Wildlife has issued regulations regarding the hunting of Russian doves to ensure the conservation of biodiversity and effective enforcement of the law.
\nAccording to the department spokesperson, this step has been taken under the powers granted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity Act 2015, with the aim of preserving natural beauty and ensuring sustainable management of bird populations.
\nAccording to the issued notification, during the year 2025\u201326, hunting of Russian doves will only be permitted on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This facility will be available only to individuals who hold a valid small game shooting license.
\nThese regulations have come into immediate effect and will remain in force until May 31, 2026. The statement clearly mentions that strict legal action will be taken against those who hunt outside the designated days.
\nA maximum limit of eight birds per hunter per day has been set. Exceeding this limit will result in a fine of Rs. 5,000 per bird, along with legal action.
\nHunting before sunrise and after sunset is completely prohibited. Wildlife department teams will continuously monitor bird populations, and hunting may be immediately banned if necessary.
\nThe department has appealed to the public, especially hunters, to ensure compliance with the laws and support the government in conserving natural resources.
