\nWAPDA\u2019s Dasu Hydropower Project (DHPP) has completed the training of 31 women from Upper Kohistan as Lady Health Visitors under a Rs. 58.8 million corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare services in the project area.
\nGwadar Pro quoting an official statement on Friday, that the women underwent professional training at the Abbottabad Public Health School as part of the project\u2019s community development program. The initiative is intended to strengthen healthcare access in Upper Kohistan, particularly for women and children living in remote areas with limited medical facilities.
\nThe newly trained Lady Health Visitors will support local communities by providing basic healthcare services, maternal and child health guidance, and awareness programs. In April, DHPP also organized a Health and Hygiene Kit Distribution Drive at Government High School Shatial to promote student well-being and awareness about personal hygiene.
\nUnder the initiative, 140 health and hygiene kits were distributed among students from classes 6th to 10th. The kits included essential hygiene items aimed at promoting cleanliness and preventing common illnesses.
\nStudents were also briefed on the importance of regular handwashing, personal care and maintaining a clean environment as part of healthy daily practices.
\nTeachers and local participants appreciated the initiative, saying such activities help improve students\u2019 health, confidence and school attendance while promoting awareness in local communities.
