\nThe 11th Convocation Ceremony of Liaquat National Medical College (LNMC), was held at the Auditorium, Convention Centre, Liaquat National Hospital to honor the graduating class of 2025. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon, Vice Chancellor Jinnah Sind Medical University, Senior faculty members, and parents of the graduating students.
\nProf. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon, Vice Chancellor JSMU conferred degrees on 87 MBBS graduates. Dr. Farhana Riaz, Dr. Alina Karam and Dr. Aliyan secured the first, second & third positions respectively.
\nThe conferring of Degrees was followed by administration of the Oath, reaffirming the graduates\u2019 commitment to uphold the highest standards of medical ethics and patient care.
\nOutstanding students were recognized with medals & merit awards for their exceptional academic achievements. The Wajid Ali Shah Medal for the Best Graduate was presented to Dr Aliyan, the Professor Amir Ali Shoro Medal to Dr. Ishrat Ghani, MD\u2019s Medal for best male graduate to Dr Muhammad Naheel Khalili and the Principal\u2019s Medal for best female graduate to Dr. Uswah Imran.
\nThe Best Alumni Award was presented to Dr. Syed Ijlal Ahmed who graduated from LNH in 2016. Currently he is serving as Consultant Neurologist and Physician scientist at Saint Francis healthcare system, USA.
\nIn his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Karimullah Makki, Principal LNMC congratulated the graduates and their parents on the milestone achieved and expressed pride in the graduating class who secured 99% pass result.
\nHe said that LNMC medical graduates are serving the medical field in different capacities in Pakistan & abroad. He stated that LNMC is recognized by multiple foreign medical regulatory bodies and also has been accepted as Host & Home institution in the Association of American Medical Colleges via the Visiting Students Learning Opportunities (VSLO) program. He advised students that in this era of A.I and digitalization, they should not forget the skills they have learnt, specifically interviewing skills and clinical diagnosis.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Salman Faridi, Medical Director LNH&MC congratulated the graduates. He emphasized that \u201ctechnology can treat a disease but only a human can care for a patient\u201d.
\nHe also shared core pillars that are; passion for new knowledge, self-well-being, and precision in healthcare and humility.
\nHe added, that the key to a rewarding life is to help & be of service to others; not seeking material possessions but to bring joys to other people. He stressed that the young graduates should move beyond achievement of personal ambitions and shift their paradigm towards more expansive obligations of serving the nation and fulfilling the needs of the society.
\nIn his address, the Vice Chancellor of JSMU congratulated the graduates and their parents. He said that students should keep their options open for post-graduation in the current geopolitical situation.
