\nThe Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Provincial Ombudsperson Secretariat on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and improving mechanisms for public grievance redressal across the province.
\nThe agreement was signed by Secretary Provincial Assembly Syed Wiqar Shah on behalf of the assembly, while Provincial Ombudsperson Rubab Mehdi represented the Ombudsperson Secretariat.
\nAccording to officials, the MoU provides a structured framework for cooperation between the two institutions in areas including legislative support, policy consultation, information sharing and coordinated engagement on matters related to governance, administrative justice and protection of citizens\u2019 rights.
\nUnder the agreement, both sides will promote consultation on laws and statutes of mutual interest, particularly legislation concerning women\u2019s rights, workplace protection, harassment prevention and public welfare.
\nThe collaboration will also support parliamentary platforms, including the Women Parliamentary Caucus, to strengthen inclusive governance and institutional engagement.
\nOfficials said the MoU also emphasises capacity building, awareness campaigns and technical cooperation to enhance service delivery, transparency and accountability in public sector institutions.
\nThe two institutions agreed that all formal communication under the framework would be routed through designated focal persons to ensure proper documentation and institutional record-keeping while respecting the constitutional independence of both bodies.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the signatories reaffirmed their commitment to promoting responsive governance, enhancing public trust and ensuring timely and effective redressal of citizens\u2019 grievances in KP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
