\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan on Thursday strongly criticised the federal government\u2019s economic policies, alleging that the country had plunged into severe economic instability due to what he termed a \u201cfailed economic strategy\u201d.
\nIn a statement, the provincial minister said the federal government was attempting to run the economy through external borrowing without having a clear and practical roadmap for investment promotion and economic stability.
\nHe claimed that the present government had broken all previous borrowing records and that the country\u2019s debt had reached an unprecedented level.
\nMr Jan said key sectors, including agriculture and industry, were facing serious crises, but the government\u2019s economic team appeared disconnected from ground realities.
\nHe said repeated increases in petroleum prices had intensified the difficulties faced by the public, while higher electricity and gas tariffs, along with rising prices of essential commodities, had made life increasingly difficult for poor and middle-class families.
\nThe minister further said that the worsening economic situation had led to rising unemployment among young people, while the business community was also struggling with serious challenges.
\nExpressing concern over the federal government\u2019s priorities, Mr Jan alleged that its focus remained on political victimisation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rather than addressing public problems and stabilising the economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
