\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have put in place a comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Adha, with over 50,000 officers and personnel to be deployed across the province.
\nInspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office on Sunday to review law and order arrangements for the festival.
\nAccording to an official statement, all Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers have been directed to remain in the field and ensure strict implementation of the security plan.
\nThe meeting decided that police and volunteers would be posted at Eid congregations, mosques and imambargahs, with Station House Officers personally supervising arrangements.
\nStrict security measures will be adopted for political leaders and religious scholars, including security audits of their residences. Senior officers have been instructed to coordinate directly with political leaders on security matters.
\nThe safety of Chinese nationals working on CPEC and other projects was declared a priority, with security to be kept on high alert at these sites.
\nTourist facilitation centres at scenic spots will remain fully operational, while highways, bus stands and railway stations will be checked through patrolling and scanners.
\nThe police also announced a zero-tolerance policy against aerial firing, terror financing and illegal financial activities in cattle markets.
\nThe meeting was attended by Additional IGPs Operations Muhammad Ali Baba Khel, Special Branch Kashif Alam, Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed, DIG Operations Shakir Hussain Dawar and AIG Operations Taimur Khan. All RPOs participated via video link.
