\nEid-ul-Azha was celebrated by people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including merged tribal areas with religious fervor and enthusiasm on Wednesday..
\nThe day dawned with special prayers in mosques and Eidgahs for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah and the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan.
\nLarge Eid congregations were held in all major cities and towns of KP where people sought forgiveness and mercy besides prayed for acceptance of their sacrifices.
\nIn Peshawar, the central congregations was at main Eidgah Charsadda road and historic Mohabat Khan mosque at 6:30am.
\nThe ulema and religious scholars highlighted philosophy of sacrfice in way of Allah Almighty.
\nKP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi offered Eid prayer at D I Khan and Engr Amir Muqam Federal Minister at Shangla.
\nBig congregations were also held at Qasim Ali Khan Dawash Masjid, Sunehri Masjid, Kalabari Masjid, Spin Jumaat Masjid Town, Zagona Masjid Hayatabad Peshawar where special prayers offered for the country and the nation\u201ds prosperity.
\nThe ulema in their sermons highlighted significance and philosophy of Eidul Azha and offered a special Dua for the eternal peace of the people who have martyred in the line of duty by protecting the motherland.
\nMaulana Tayab Qureshi,.Chief Khateeb KP said Eid-ul-Azha carried special signficance for Muslims to seek forgiveness and sacrfice everything in way of Allah Almighty.
\nHe said people must remember the poor and deserving people in their happiness on this holy Eid.
\nThe spirit of sacrifice teaches one to be ready for any service required for the good of humanity and willingness of Allah Almighty.
\nBig congregations were also held at Swat, Malakand, Swabi, Dir, Shangla, Waziristan, Bannu, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Bajaur, Charsadda, Mansehra, Mardan, Kohat, Mohmand, Buner, Khyber, Haripur, Bannu, Orakzai and others districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
\nThe faithful slaughtered animals in line of Sunnah Ibrahim (AS).
\nThe ulema said the people have to devote lives to the service of Islam and humanity.
