\nSupreme Court (SC) has dismissed review petition against death sentence of the prime convict Zahir Jaffer in Noor Mukadam murder case.
\nA three-member bench led by Justice Hashim Kakar and consisting of Justices Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Salah ud Din Panhwar announced the unanimous decision.
\nKhawaja Haris, counsel for convict Zahir Jaffer gave arguments.
\nThe SC upheld the sentence of the convict.
\nThe review petition against death sentence of prime convict Zahir Jaffer in Noor Mukadam murder case came up for hearing in SC.
\nGiving arguments, Khawaja Haris counsel for Zahir Jaffer said the test of slain Noor Mukadam was got conducted but drug test of the convict was not got conducted . The question is this as to why the prosecution has not got conducted drug test of the convict. The prosecution did not get conduct test of my client under pressure.
\nKhawaja Haris said it was running on social media the convict will be got saved by proving him drug addict. With regret Judge too took pressure of the media.
\nThe court remarked the courts donot give decision under news paper reporting and social media pressure.
\nJustice Salah ud Din Panhwar said Khawaja Haris sahb there is contradiction in your arguments.
\nThe court said \u201c you are saying the mental condition of the culprit was not good at the time of incident. It means you are declaring social media review correct.
\nJustice Salah ud Din Panhwar said suppose we admit the mental condition of the convict was not good.
\nJustice Hashim Kakar said you want what relief in review in this situation. Had drug test been conducted what benefit it could give to you.
\nKhawaja Haris said said we requested for constitution of medical board which was rejected. Miscellaneous petition was filed in SC . I request for concession in punishment and not re-trial. The court should have kept before it the facts while awarding death sentence.
\nJustice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said trial court rejected plea for medical board.
\nThe court remarked non constitution of medical board was not challenged in high court.
