ISLAMABAD
\nPresident Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has called for greater environmental responsibility and collective action to tackle the growing challenges of climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation.
\nTalking to visiting delegations of businessmen at the Chamber House here on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day he said that a clean and healthy environment is essential for sustainable economic growth, public health, and the well-being of future generations. He noted that environmental issues have become a global concern and require coordinated efforts from governments, businesses, and society at large.
\nThe ICCI President observed that Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change and environmental disasters. He stressed the need for adopting environmentally friendly business practices, promoting renewable energy, conserving natural resources, and reducing industrial and commercial waste.
\nHe emphasized that the business community has a vital role to play in protecting the environment by embracing green technologies, improving energy efficiency, and supporting sustainable development initiatives. He added that economic progress and environmental protection must go hand in hand to ensure long-term national prosperity.
\nSardar Tahir Mehmood reaffirmed ICCI\u2019s commitment to creating awareness among the business community regarding environmental conservation and supporting policies aimed at promoting a greener and cleaner Pakistan.
