\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan on Tuesday condemned the denial of meetings between PTI founder Imran Khan and his family and lawyers, calling it the \u201cworst example of political victimization\u201d and accusing the federal and Punjab governments of violating court orders. In a statement issued here, Jan said keeping Khan in solitary confinement and restricting his contact with family and legal counsel crossed \u201call limits of oppression and injustice.\u201d He alleged that the Punjab government was continuously defying court directives on inmate access. Jan said the federal and Punjab governments, which he claimed came to power through a \u201cstolen mandate under Form 47,\u201d were acting out of fear of the PTI founder and resorting to unconstitutional measures.
\nHe added that several provincial cabinet members and parliamentarians had visited Adiala Jail in a show of solidarity with Khan and his family.
\nRaising concerns over Khan\u2019s health, the minister said the PTI founder was being deprived of basic medical care. Despite requiring eye treatment, Khan had not been shifted to Al-Shifa Eye Hospital, which Jan described as a \u201cgrave violation of fundamental human rights.\u201d
\n\u201cFurther restrictions on meetings with the PTI founder and any negligence regarding his health have become unacceptable,\u201d he said.
\nCriticizing the federal government more broadly, Jan said it had failed in every sector and that the Constitution, rule of law, and fundamental rights were being undermined nationwide. He also opposed the ban on wheat transportation to KP, calling it unconstitutional, illegal, and evidence of discriminatory treatment toward the province.
\nJan warned that such actions would become a political liability for the federal and Punjab governments, and that the public would hold them accountable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
