\nSafe City Peshawar has distributed specially designed smart tablets among Station House Officers (SHOs), Moharrars and chowki in-charges during a ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, aiming to strengthen real-time policing through digital connectivity with the central command and control system.
\nAccording to officials, the tablets are directly linked to the Safe City command and control centre and will enable field officers to receive instant alerts regarding wanted suspects, suspicious individuals, stolen or doubtful vehicles, and other security-related concerns. The system is expected to facilitate swift response and immediate action on critical information.
\nOn the occasion, a dedicated training workshop was also conducted to familiarize officers with various components of the Safe City project, including modern surveillance systems, video analytics, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), digital alert mechanisms and standard operational procedures.
\nParticipants were given hands-on training on the effective use of the tablets, verification of incoming alerts, identification of suspicious persons and vehicles, coordination with field units, and prompt initiation of legal action procedures to ensure timely and effective policing.
\nOfficials said the Safe City initiative represents a significant step towards modern, technology-driven policing in Peshawar. The system integrates high-resolution surveillance cameras, intelligent video monitoring, data analytics, and real-time alert management through a central command structure, helping in crime prevention as well as rapid identification and tracking of criminal elements.
\nThey added that the initiative is already contributing to improved public safety and a more responsive policing mechanism across the city.
\nAuthorities further stated that similar training programmes will continue in the future to enhance the professional capacity of field officers and ensure effective use of modern technology at the grassroots level, ultimately strengthening public safety and law enforcement outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
