\nCOMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) have formalized a strategic partnership to strengthen professional capacity in Pakistan\u2019s public procurement sector through the development of specialized certificate and diploma programmes.
\nThe Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at CUI\u2019s Islamabad Campus today, by Mr. Hasnat Ahmad Qureshi, Managing Director, PPRA, and Dr. Faheem A. Qureshi, Registrar, COMSATS University Islamabad. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector, CUI, and attended by senior officials from both institutions.
\nUnder the agreement, CUI and PPRA will jointly design and deliver professional training programmes, including short certificate courses and diploma qualifications, focusing on public procurement systems, contract management, regulatory compliance, transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government procurement.
\nThe initiative aims to address the growing need for formally trained procurement professionals in Pakistan. The programmes will be open to government officials, procurement practitioners, and university students, providing them with both academic knowledge and practical skills required for effective procurement management.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector, CUI, said that the partnership marks an important step toward institutionalizing professional excellence in public procurement. He emphasized that capacity building in procurement is essential for strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and promoting transparency in public institutions. He also said that a key feature of the collaboration will be the use of CUI\u2019s advanced digital learning infrastructure, including its AI-based Adaptive Learning Model, to ensure that training content remains personalized and responsive to the evolving needs of Pakistan\u2019s public sector.
\nMr. Hasnat Ahmad Qureshi, Managing Director, PPRA, highlighted the Authority\u2019s commitment to enhancing procurement practices through regulatory reform and investment in human capital. He said that the collaboration with CUI would help develop a skilled and ethically grounded procurement workforce capable of meeting modern public sector challenges.
\nThe MoU also provides for a structured review mechanism through which both institutions will regularly assess programme performance and update course content in line with changes in the public procurement regulatory framework.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
