\n PESHAWAR
\nSarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Junaid Altaf while highlighting importance of Pak-Iran bilateral trade and economic relations, called for launching of joint ventures, exchange of business delegation, holding of single country exhibition, and fully taking advantages from each other potentials and experiences to further improve the mutual trade volume between the two brotherly Islamic countries.
\nSpeaking during a visit of Consul General of Iran in Peshawar Ali Banafsheh Khah here at the chamber, President Junaid Altaf stressed the need of launching joint ventures to further improve mutual economic trade ties between Pakistan and Iran.
\nMeeting was attended by SCCI senior vice president Muhammad Nadeem, vice president Sabir Ahmad Bangash, former senior vice presidents Abdul Jalil Jan and Shahid Hussain, members of the chamber\u2019s executive committee Ishfaq Ahmad and Shamsur Rahim, WCCIP President Qurtul Ain, SVP Zaraa Imtiaz, VP Zareen Akhtar and Naeemur Rehman, Saddar Gul, Faiz Rasool and Secretary General SCCI Muqtasid Ahmad, traders and industrialists.
\nThe meeting discussed promotion of joint ventures in sectors of mutual interest, exploration of investment opportunities and industrial collaboration, exchange of business delegations to identify potential areas of cooperation and strengthening business-to-business (B2B) linkages to enhance mutual trade volume between the brotherly Islamic countries.
\nThe participants emphasized the need for a simplified and expedited visa regime for genuine businessmen, and facilitation in the issuance of long-term multiple-entry business visas to encourage trade and investment activities.
\nThe meeting called for signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Iranian business institutions to facilitate information sharing, trade promotion, and investment cooperation.
\nAli Banafsheh who was accompanied by Dr Mian Ifikhar Hussain and his wife Ms Nirgas Alishagai, first council Mohammad Hassan Moazami, translator Fazal Azim Azim, highlighted the importance of Iran-Pak mutual trade, stating that Iran and Pakistan tied in strong traditional, commercial and cultural relations.
\nAli Banafsheh said his country was keen to further improve and strengthen ties with Pakistan.
\nJunaid Altaf said that the business community is keen to improve mutual trade between Pakistan and Iran.
\nHe called upon the governments of Pakistan and Iran to come together and make a joint action plan and initiatives to resolve duties\/tariffs and other issues so that the problems of the business community of both countries can be resolved and mutual trade and relations can be further improved.
\nThe Iranian diplomat hoped that after the signing of the peace agreement, new avenues will be opened to further improve the mutual trade and economic relations between Iran and Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
