Police teams also spoke directly with passengers on different highways to verify fares and assured them that legal action would be taken against anyone found charging more than the prescribed rates.<br \/>\n\u201cProtecting passengers\u2019 rights is our top priority, and no one will be allowed to charge fares above the official rates,\u201d the Traffic Police teams said.<br \/>\nSP Pervez Khan said overcharging was \u201cunacceptable\u201d and that daily checks and monitoring would continue across the district.
