\nPakistani transporters whose empty container vehicles returned from Afghanistan Tuesday demanded high ups to immediately cleare their vehicles stopped by Pakistan\u2019s customs preventive officials at the Michni checkpost in Landikotal.
\nSpeaking a press conference at the district Khyber press club Landikotal, drivers including Wilayat, Qudrat Jan, Khan Zar Azmat, Raza Khan, Shahid and others said their vehicles had remained stranded in Afghanistan for the past 10 months, causing them severe financial losses and hardships.
\nThey said after returning to Pakistan through the Torkham border, their vehicles were stopped at the Michni checkpost by customs preventive authorities. They alleged that officials had parked the vehicles on the road side over the installation of new tyres and were removing tyres from the vehicles, calling the action unfair.
\nThe transporters appealed to senior customs officials and other authorities to immediately allow the movement of the detained empty container vehicles.
\nThey warned that if their demand was not accepted, they would block the Pak-Afghan highway at the Michni checkpost in Landikotal.
\nThe drivers also urged the government to provide relief to Pakistani transporters returning from Afghanistan and stop unnecessary harassment at the Torkham border and Michni checkpost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
