\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), marked International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day with a ceremony in Peshawar, reaffirming the provincial government\u2019s commitment to strengthening the small business sector.
\nThe event brought together representatives of government departments, chambers of commerce and industry, trade associations, entrepreneurs and small business owners to discuss measures for promoting entrepreneurship and improving the business environment in the province.
\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on Industries Humayun Khan, who attended the event as chief guest, said micro, small and medium-sized enterprises played a vital role in economic growth, employment generation, innovation and regional development.
\nHe said the provincial government was pursuing policy reforms to create a more business-friendly environment through investment facilitation, improved access to finance and enhanced support services for entrepreneurs.
\n\u201cEmpowering MSMEs is essential for achieving sustainable and inclusive economic development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d he said.
\nVice Chairman KPBOIT Hassan Masood Kunwar said the authority remained committed to promoting investment, facilitating businesses and supporting the growth of local enterprises.
\nHe described MSMEs as the backbone of the provincial economy and said KPBOIT would continue working closely with SMEDA, chambers of commerce, development partners and the private sector to improve business competitiveness, attract investment and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
\nRepresentatives of SMEDA highlighted the organisation\u2019s ongoing initiatives in capacity building, business development services, technology adoption, market access and financial inclusion for small and medium-sized enterprises. They stressed the need for greater collaboration between public institutions, the private sector and development partners to build a resilient and competitive MSME sector.
\nRepresentatives of chambers of commerce and small businesses also shared their views on the challenges facing entrepreneurs, including access to finance, skills development, digital transformation and market linkages. They appreciated the provincial government\u2019s efforts to promote entrepreneurship while calling for sustained policy support to help businesses expand and compete effectively.
\nThe participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation for the promotion of entrepreneurship and the sustainable growth of MSMEs, describing the sector as a key driver of employment, exports, innovation and long-term economic development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
