\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has referred a call attention notice concerning the seniority of List-F police officers and the implementation of a service tribunal ruling on promotions to the relevant standing committee for review.
\nThe notice, moved by MPA Sardar Akramullah Ghazi, raised concerns over changes made to the preparation of the List-F seniority list in 2022 and their impact on promotions within the police department.
\nAccording to the notice, List-F seniority had been prepared on the basis of the actual date of confirmation of sub-inspectors under the Police Rules until Aug 24, 2021. It alleged that the subsequent division of List-F into two separate lists and the determination of seniority on the basis of List-E were contrary to the Police Rules, judicial precedents and decisions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal.
\nThe notice claimed that the revised procedure resulted in the promotion of more than 600 junior officers to the rank of inspector while a number of senior officers were deprived of promotion.
\nIt further stated that a larger bench of the KP Service Tribunal, in its Jan 23, 2026 judgment, directed the authorities to determine seniority on the basis of the actual date of confirmation of sub-inspectors, restore the single List-F in accordance with the law and review the entire seniority list. The notice alleged that the tribunal\u2019s decision had yet to be implemented.
\nThe call attention notice urged the government to implement the tribunal\u2019s ruling, restore the original List-OF system under the Police Rules, review promotions made under the existing seniority list and reinstate the promotion rights of the affected officers.
\nThe Speaker of the KP Assembly referred the matter to the relevant standing committee, which was expected to examine the legal and administrative issues involved before presenting its recommendations to the House.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
