\nA resident of the provincial capital has accused a man residing in London of cheating his family out of Rs37.5 million in London under the guise of investment and arranging their deportation after they asked for their money back.
\nAddressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Monday, Mian Haroon Kaka Khel said he, his brother Mian Habeel Kaka Khel and his mother Naheed Begum had given Rs37.5 million to Asif Ali Khan, son of Liaquat Ali Khan, a resident of Qissa Khwani, in early 2024 in Islamabad for investment purposes.
\n\u201cWe trusted Asif Ali Khan, but he deceived us,\u201d Mr Haroon said.
\nHe alleged that when the family went to London to meet him, they found that Mr Khan was using photographs with senior Pakistan Peoples Party leaders to project himself as a prominent party figure.
\nAccording to Mr Haroon, Asif Ali Khan was allegedly involved in unlawful activities in London, including being a regular member of casinos and selling drugs. He further claimed that the local council where Mr Khan resides in London had filed law violation applications against him.
\n\u201cWhen we demanded our capital and profit, he first delayed and later refused to return the money,\u201d Mr Haroon alleged. \u201cInstead, he submitted an application against us to the immigration authorities in London, which led to our deportation.\u201d
\nHe appealed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to take notice of the matter.
\n\u201cThe fraud was committed in the name of the Pakistan Peoples Party,\u201d he said. \u201cWe request the party leadership to help us recover our life savings.\u201d
\nMr Haroon said the alleged fraud had severely affected their family life and their children\u2019s education.
\nHe urged the authorities to take action against Asif Ali Khan, son of Liaquat Ali Khan, for the alleged fraud and misuse of the party\u2019s name.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
