Karak: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has warned of strict action against officials over negligence and poor performance during a detailed inspection of development projects, public hospitals, government offices and traffic management in Karak district under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government\u2019s good governance programme. Accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Karak Asad Sarwar and officials from relevant departments, the Commissioner reviewed progress on the under-construction Kamran Shaheed Road and other ongoing development schemes. He directed the authorities to ensure timely completion of projects, transparency in execution and adherence to quality standards, saying no compromise would be made on works funded with public money. \nShah praised a team that completed a three-kilometre road within two months, describing its performance as a model for other departments and stressing that both speed and quality should remain priorities in public development projects.
\nDuring the visit, the Commissioner also inspected hospitals in remote areas, reviewing the availability of medicines, attendance of medical staff and healthcare facilities being provided to patients. He directed the health officials to ensure uninterrupted delivery of basic medical services, warning that negligence in public healthcare would not be tolerated.
\nThe Commissioner met the local residents at different locations, listened to their grievances and directed the officials to resolve public complaints without delay. He said the true measure of government performance was public satisfaction and efficient service delivery.
\nLater, Shah inspected traffic management on the Indus Highway, where authorities fined several vehicles for driving on the wrong side of the road and for overloading. He said traffic laws would be enforced without exception to improve road safety.
