\nThe Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir has imposed a three-month ban on swimming and boating in dams, rivers, water channels, spillways and rainwater ponds under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C.) to prevent drowning incidents and safeguard public lives with immediate effect for a period of 3 months.
\nThe restriction was necessary as rising summer temperatures attract large numbers of residents and tourists to water bodies, where risky recreational activities have increased the likelihood of fatal accidents.
\nThe administration said the measure aims to protect human life and avert any untoward incidents by restricting access to hazardous water sites across the district.
