\nMember of the National Assembly (MNA) Shehryar Khan Afridi on Wednesday visited the under-construction sewage treatment plant in KDA being developed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), where he reviewed the pace of work and stressed the need for timely completion of the project.
\nHe was accompanied by Commissioner Kohat Division Moatasim Billah Shah, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz, and Chairman Board of Directors and Acting Chief Executive Officer of WSSC Kohat Muhammad Saad.
\nDuring the visit, Infrastructure Engineer Zafarullah Orakzai briefed the delegation on the project\u2019s construction progress, technical features, and the environmental and public health benefits it will provide after completion. The delegation was informed that the modern sewage treatment plant is designed to improve wastewater management, protect the environment, and enhance sanitation services for residents of Kohat.
\nShehryar Khan Afridi directed the concerned authorities to ensure high construction standards and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe. He also instructed officials to accelerate road restoration work in KDA so that residents facing inconvenience due to ongoing construction could receive relief at the earliest.
\nCommissioner Moatasim Billah Shah and Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz also emphasized maintaining the quality and pace of construction, expressing confidence that the project would be completed on schedule and deliver long-term benefits to the people of Kohat.
\nLater, the delegation visited the headquarters of Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Kohat, where they were briefed on the organization\u2019s digital transformation and administrative reforms.
\nOfficials informed the visitors about the implementation of modern digital systems, including the Complaint Management System, Decision Support System, Human Resource Management System, Water Asset Management System, and Fleet Management System.
\nThe briefing highlighted that these initiatives are aimed at improving service delivery, strengthening institutional performance, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, and promoting transparency and data-driven decision-making.
