\nThe US military said it carried out the seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran since President Donald Trump declared their temporary ceasefire agreement \u201cover\u201d.
\nUS Central Command (Centcom) said its forces \u201chit surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities\u201d.
\nIran said it responded by targeting US allies in the region including Kuwait, which said a power plant, water distillation plant and an oil facility had been hit.
\nIt marked a full week of renewed hostilities which also saw the US reimpose a blockade of Iranian ports and traffic grind to a halt through the Strait of Hormuz as the preliminary deal to end the war faltered within a month of its signing.
\nLater on Saturday, Kuwait\u2019s state news agency said an oil facility had suffered significant damage and some people had been injured in \u201crepeated Iranian attacks\u201d.
\nJordan\u2019s military also said it had intercepted 10 Iranian missiles fired into its airspace overnight. No damage was reported. Bahrain also said its air defences had \u201cthwarted\u201d Iranian attacks.
\nCentcom said it had ended its strikes at 21:30 ET (02:30 BST) after several hours.
\n\u201cUS forces employed fighter aircraft, aerial drones, and warships in addition to other assets,\u201d it said in its statement.
\nExplosions were heard in the central city of Yazd and at Qeshm island and the port of Bandar Abbas next to the strait, Iranian state media reported.
\nBBC Persian has verified two videos showing damage and debris on and near the twin Shahid Mirzaei tunnels, a route running north of Bandar Abbas.
\nLocal authorities also said an attack on electricity facilities and desalination pumps at a plant near Jask had left about 10,000 people in 20 villages without drinking water.
\nMeanwhile more than 100 telecommunications masts have been knocked out of service, disrupting landline, mobile and internet services in northern Hormozgan province.
\nThe US and Iran agreed to stop fighting in June to enable talks to end the war.
\nThe ceasefire was largely observed, even though there were Iranian attacks on oil tankers to force them to comply with Tehran\u2019s demands that ships seek authorisation to cross the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian attacks on shipping were followed by US strikes against Iran.
\nHowever, the talks appeared to make no headway and Trump declared the ceasefire over last week.
\nSince then, in addition to attacking Iranian sites, the US has also re-imposed a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
\nIran has declared the Strait closed to shipping and traffic has largely stopped.
\nA fifth of the world\u2019s oil and liquefied natural gas used to transit through the strait and the head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, has said he has concerns about global energy supplies.
\nThe US military has also denied a report in Iran\u2019s Fars news agency that two oil tankers \u201cexploded and caught fire while passing through a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz\u201d. Centcom said: \u201cLike most IRGC claims, this is false.\u201d
\nOn Friday, Iran\u2019s armed forces claimed to have attacked multiple US military facilities across the Gulf region in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and \u2013 for the first time \u2013 Syria, which the US denied.
\nSources have told the BBC\u2019s US partner CBS news that several American service members were injured during Iranian attacks on two Jordanian bases over the past week.
\nThe US has meanwhile denied Tehran\u2019s earlier claims that the US attacked civilian infrastructure in Iran, including bridges, a train station and an airport.
\nBBC Verify and BBC Persian have verified footage of damage to Gariveh Bridge, after night videos showed a ball of flames on top of it. Daylight images showed a crumbled stretch of road with rubble around the broken bridge. Provincial authorities in the affected region, Hormozgan province, said seven people were killed in the attacks.
\nA White House spokesperson told the BBC the US had \u201ccarried out strikes exclusively on military targets, including military logistics infrastructure\u201d.
\nThe US also said it had destroyed a control tower in the port of Chabahar, with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth sharing an image of the tower collapsing as it was hit by a strike.
