\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Khaleequr Rehman chaired a meeting with KfW Health Sector Specialist Dr Masuma Zaidi to review the progress of KfW-supported health projects and discuss future collaboration aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the province.
\nThe meeting was attended by Health Secretary Fayaz Ali Shah, Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Projects Implementation Unit (SHPI), the SHPI director, the project director of the Health Information Systems Development Unit (HISDU), and other senior officials of the Health Department.
\nDr Zaidi briefed participants on the health sector initiatives financed by KfW over the years, highlighting progress in strengthening healthcare infrastructure, health systems and service delivery.
\nThe minister appreciated KfW\u2019s continued partnership with the provincial government and acknowledged its contribution to improving healthcare facilities and expanding access to quality health services.
\nParticipants were informed that SHPI Phase IV was currently at the feasibility stage. During the meeting, Health Secretary Fayaz Ali Shah proposed the establishment of a model Basic Health Unit under the upcoming phase of the project to serve as a benchmark facility for replication across the province.
\nThe proposal received broad support, and it was agreed that technical teams from KfW and the Health Department would jointly identify and finalise priority interventions for inclusion in SHPI Phase IV.
\nThe meeting also reviewed progress on SHPI Phase III, which focuses on digitisation of the health sector. Participants agreed that the project would continue to be managed by SHPI until HISDU finalises the selection of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Once the EMR platform is selected, the project will be transferred to HISDU for implementation in collaboration with the international consulting firm GOPA.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Mr Rehman said the provincial government remained committed to modernising the health sector through digital transformation, strengthening primary health care and fostering partnerships with development organisations.
\nHe said the initiatives under SHPI would improve access to quality healthcare services, enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the province\u2019s overall health system.
\nThe minister also reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to maintaining close coordination with KfW and other development partners to accelerate health sector reforms and ensure sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery across KP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
