\nPakistan firmly rejected accusations made by India\u2019s representative at the UN Security Council, stating bluntly that India is violating the Indus Waters Treaty and sponsoring terrorism.
\nPakistani diplomat Ansar Shah told the Security Council that India is making a failed attempt to misrepresent the situation on the ground, and that there is no room for unilaterally suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
\nHe noted that in August 2025, a Court of Arbitration had already ruled that the Indus Waters Treaty remains in force, and that using shared water resources as political leverage constitutes a serious violation of treaty obligations \u2014 one that could pose a threat to regional and global peace and security.
\nShah further said that India\u2019s unfounded allegations regarding terrorism are actually an attempt to cover up its own sponsorship and financing of terrorism against Pakistan. He said that Indian-backed militant groups \u2014 including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), and the Majeed Brigade \u2014 have killed thousands of civilians and law enforcement personnel in Pakistan, including women and children.
\nThe Pakistani diplomat also said that evidence exists of India\u2019s involvement in extrajudicial killings in other countries, including in North America, arguing that India is not a victim of terrorism but a sponsor of it.
\nTurning the accusation back on the Indian representative, Shah said India is itself guilty of state terrorism, particularly in what he termed India\u2019s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where he said the Kashmiri people continue to be denied their right to self-determination in open violation of multiple Security Council resolutions.
\nHe said India continues to disregard its obligations under the UN Charter \u2014 specifically Article 25, which requires all member states to comply with Security Council decisions \u2014 and asserted that Jammu and Kashmir was never part of India, and that no unilateral or illegal action by an occupying power can change its historic, legal, and disputed status.
\nShah concluded by calling on India to fulfill its legal obligations under international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
