\nAleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, on Sunday demanded that her brother be immediately shifted to a hospital for complete medical examination and treatment, saying his health condition was critical and he required proper medical facilities.
\nAddressing a large PTI public gathering at Bacha Khan Chowk in Mardan in connection with the party\u2019s Street Movement, Aleema Khan said Imran Khan had been facing harsh conditions in jail for the past nine months and was also suffering from a problem in one of his eyes.
\nShe said her only demand was that Imran Khan should be provided medical care in a hospital instead of being kept under difficult conditions. \u201cImran Khan is not alone; the entire nation stands with him,\u201d she told the gathering, which was attended by thousands of PTI workers.
\nAleema Khan said the people of Mardan had proved through their participation that Pakistan\u2019s public supported Imran Khan. She urged the government to understand that the PTI founder had the backing of millions of people.
\nShe claimed that Imran Khan had been kept in solitary confinement and appealed to party workers to continue their struggle peacefully for their rights and against what she described as an oppressive system.
\n\u201cImran Khan needs all of you. He trusts his workers and wants the people to raise their voice for their rights,\u201d she said, adding that the youth of PTI would now have to take the lead.
\nEarlier, thousands of PTI workers warmly welcomed Aleema Khan at the Rashakai Motorway Interchange and accompanied her to Mardan in a large procession. PTI Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, Provincial Minister Tariq Mehmood Aryani, members of the provincial assembly and other party leaders also attended the rally.
\nThe participants chanted slogans in favour of Imran Khan and demanded his release. PTI leaders, while concluding the rally, reiterated their resolve to continue their political struggle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
