\nPakistan\u2019s Foreign Office (FO) has strongly condemned Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh\u2019s \u201chighly provocative and irresponsible comments\u201d regarding the Kashmir dispute, warning that New Delhi must not underestimate Islamabad\u2019s resolve to thwart any adventurism. On Sunday, Singh declared there would be \u201cno talks with Pakistan,\u201d adding that if dialogue were to occur, it would only concern Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which he claimed was \u201cillegally occupied by Pakistan.\u201d
\nHe further threatened that any \u201cmisadventure\u201d would invite a response \u201cbeyond imagination,\u201d according to the Times of India. In a statement issued Monday, the FO rejected Singh\u2019s remarks, saying they distort facts about the UN-recognised Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains on the agenda of the UN Security Council. \u201cHis statement not only distorts facts but also reflects the Indian government\u2019s deliberate policy to threaten regional and international peace and security,\u201d the FO said.
\nThe statement added that such rhetoric was an attempt to divert attention from India\u2019s \u201ccontinued occupation of Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, its sponsorship of terrorism across the region, as well as its domestic instability.\u201d The FO stressed that India must not underestimate Pakistan\u2019s determination to defend itself. \u201cWhile resorting to misplaced rhetoric of aggression and belligerence, India must not underestimate the people and government of Pakistan\u2019s unwavering resolve and determination to thwart any Indian adventurism,\u201d the statement read.
\nIt recalled the events of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos last year, when Pakistan\u2019s armed forces and citizens stood united against Indian aggression. The FO also referenced the May 2025 conflict, which erupted after an attack on tourists in occupied Kashmir. India, without evidence, blamed Pakistan, sparking a four-day exchange of strikes between the two countries. Islamabad denied involvement and called for a neutral investigation. The crisis ended only after U.S. intervention on May 10 led to a ceasefire.
\nPakistan urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take note of India\u2019s \u201crogue behaviour\u201d and hold it accountable for failing to uphold UNSC resolutions guaranteeing the right to self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
