\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed the Population Welfare Department to ensure effective implementation of family planning principles and develop a comprehensive strategy for balanced population growth in the province.
\nPresiding over a review meeting on the department\u2019s performance and ongoing activities here on Monday, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Population Welfare, Tufail Anjum, said addressing the challenges of rapid population growth required immediate and sustained public awareness campaigns.
\nThe meeting was attended by Director General Population Welfare Abdullah, Additional Director General Naushirwan, Director Administration Imran Shah, and other senior officials.
\nOfficials briefed the special assistant on family planning services, public awareness initiatives, field operations, and various population-related programmes. Progress on ongoing projects also came under review.
\nMr Anjum stressed that family planning services must be made more accessible, effective and convenient for the public. He specifically directed the department to ensure provision of basic facilities and awareness programmes in remote and far-flung areas.
\n\u201cMaintaining balance between population and resources is among the government\u2019s top priorities,\u201d he said, adding that the department must align its services with modern requirements through an integrated strategy.
\nHe further instructed officers to strengthen public awareness campaigns and adopt coordinated measures to disseminate information on family planning across different segments of society.
\nThe special assistant urged all officers to perform their duties with dedication to improve departmental performance, enhance the quality of public services, and achieve set targets.
