\nPESHAWAR
\nAdvisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Agriculture, Mian Muhammad Umar, on Wednesday described young people as the country\u2019s most valuable asset and its \u201creal hope for the future,\u201d calling for greater investment in their education, training and character-building.
\nSpeaking as chief guest at a ceremony at the University of Peshawar to mark International Youth Day, he said youth across the world had a pivotal role in providing future leadership and in building and developing societies.
\n\u201cPakistan, and particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has a large youth population which can be transformed into an effective force for national development by providing opportunities for education, skills development, employment and access to modern technology,\u201d Mr. Umar told a gathering of students, faculty members and youth representatives.
\nHe said young people possessed immense potential, energy and creative thinking, but needed a conducive environment and the right opportunities to channel those abilities.
\nThe adviser urged students to pursue research, modern technology, agriculture and entrepreneurship alongside academic and professional training.
\n\u201cMake hard work, perseverance and determination your guiding principles,\u201d he said. \u201cDo not give up on your journey toward success. Difficulties and failures are part of the process. Learn from them and move forward with greater determination and courage \u2014 that is the true hallmark of success.\u201d
\nMr. Umar called on youth to use their knowledge and skills for constructive purposes, saying an aware, educated and skilled young person could contribute significantly to the progress of both family and country.
\nHe said the provincial government was taking various measures to provide equal opportunities for youth in different fields.
\nAt the same time, he stressed that educational institutions must play a more effective role in identifying and nurturing talent, and in equipping students with skills compatible with modern requirements.
\n\u201cThe youth of today will lead Pakistan tomorrow,\u201d he said. \u201cTheir education, training and character-building is an investment in the country\u2019s bright future.\u201d<\/p>\n
In his message on International Youth Day, the adviser urged young people to set clear goals, focus on acquiring knowledge and skills, adopt a positive outlook, and use their abilities for the progress and prosperity of the country.<\/p>\n
Speakers at the event also highlighted the significance of International Youth Day, the challenges facing young people, and ways to fully utilise their potential for national development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
