Islamabad: The Public Accounts Committee was informed that the CDA had approved four Bahria Paradise Commercial Scheme projects covering 893 kanals despite the land not being transferred in the authority\u2019s name and other required conditions not being fulfilled.
\nCDA officials told the committee that show-cause notices had been issued in the matter and an inquiry had been ordered to determine responsibility and take action against those found responsible. The Director General Planning CDA informed the committee that the four projects were located along GT Road. He said the relevant revenue record had previously been maintained by Rawalpindi authorities before the area was brought within Islamabad\u2019s jurisdiction following a Survey of Pakistan exercise. He said some buildings had already been constructed in the projects and that approximately 70 to 80 percent of their development had been completed. CDA Chairman said the situation had changed and that where several kanals of land were previously required, land was now allocated according to revised requirements. The PAC directed the concerned authorities to complete the inquiry and take action in accordance with the law against those found responsible.
