The agreement is purely defensive in nature and is not directed against any third country, but it nonetheless sends a powerful message to potential aggressors that an attack on any of the three signatories will be met with a unified and overwhelming response. The pact further cements a burgeoning grouping of major Sunni Muslim powers, and it has the potential to reshape the balance of power in the region by creating a formidable military alliance that can project power and deter aggression. The signing of the agreement in Mecca, at the Al-Safa Palace, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, adds a layer of religious legitimacy to the alliance and reinforces the idea that the three nations are united not only by strategic interests but also by their shared Islamic faith and their commitment to the protection of the holy sites. The agreement is a clear manifestation of the shared commitment of the three countries to further promote cooperation and collaboration in all areas of defence cooperation, and it represents a significant step forward in the long-standing historical ties, strong ties of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity, shared strategic interests, and long-standing defence cooperation that have long united the three nations.
