\nThirty-three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) undergoing training with the Sindh Police visited the Safe City Peshawar Command and Control Centre on a study tour, where they were briefed on the use of modern technology for crime prevention, surveillance, policing and investigation.
\nThe visiting officers, led by SSP Aurangzeb, were received by Safe City Project Director DIG Ejaz Ahmed, who briefed them on the objectives, scope and operational mechanisms of the Safe City project and its role in modernising policing through technology.
\nDIG Ejaz Ahmed said the Safe City project was playing an important role in preventing crime, identifying criminal elements, protecting citizens and improving the overall policing system through the effective use of modern technology.
\nHe said modern surveillance, facial recognition, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), thermal cameras and other integrated systems enabled police to monitor situations in real time and respond more effectively to criminal incidents.
\nDuring the visit, the trainee DSPs toured different sections of the Command and Control Centre and observed the modern monitoring and surveillance systems in operation. They were informed that the centre monitored major roads, sensitive locations and different areas of the city through an extensive network of modern cameras.
\nThe officers were also briefed on the functioning and effectiveness of ANPR, facial recognition, thermal imaging, surveillance cameras and other integrated systems.
\nDIG Ejaz Ahmed said the information collected through modern cameras and digital systems helped police analyse criminal incidents, identify suspects and vehicles, and assist investigators in different cases. He also briefed the officers on 24\/7 monitoring, coordination with field police, surveillance of incidents and the timely sharing of information with relevant police units.
\nHe highlighted the achievements of Safe City Peshawar and the practical use of modern technology in operations against criminal elements. The visiting officers were also briefed on plans for establishing Safe City projects in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, expanding the project\u2019s scope and integrating modern technology into policing at the district level.
\nThe visiting Sindh Police DSPs appreciated the use of modern technology, integrated monitoring systems and the role of the Safe City project in crime prevention and investigation.
\nAt the conclusion of the visit, DIG Ejaz Ahmed presented commemorative shields to the trainee officers and expressed his best wishes for their professional careers.
