\nTop court registrar\u2019s office admits contempt plea after objections addressed
\n ISLAMABAD
\nThe Supreme Court will on September 16 hear a contempt of court plea filed by the sister of jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan over his hospital transfer.
\nThe contempt of court plea has been scheduled for hearing before a three-member bench comprising Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Shakil Ahmed.
\nThe Supreme Court has issued the roster for the judicial week starting September 14.
\nEarlier today, the top court\u2019s registrar\u2019s office returned Dr Uzma Khan\u2019s plea after raising objections, with sources saying it did not include a list of allegations against the respondents.
\nSubsequently, the PTI refiled the contempt of court petition after addressing the objection raised by the registrar and was allotted a case number (8\/2026).
\nDr Uzma also filed a petition with the top court for an early hearing of her contempt of court plea, citing the deteriorating health of the PTI founder. The SC registrar\u2019s office then accepted the plea.
\nIn her plea, she said that the request for an early hearing was connected to the former premier\u2019s health and life.
\nDr Uzma argued that the federal government defied the Supreme Court\u2019s order and deviated from the judicial ruling on her brother\u2019s transfer to Shifa Hospital.
\nShe said that authorities could have approached the relevant court if they required any clarification regarding the order.
\nDr Uzma maintained that deviation from the Supreme Court\u2019s decision was not permissible, requesting that the contempt of court petition be fixed for hearing during the ongoing week.
\nDr Uzma had filed the petition at the Supreme Court against the alleged violation of the court\u2019s order regarding the jailed PTI founder\u2019s transfer to Shifa International Hospital.
\nIn the petition filed on August 22, the PTI founder\u2019s sister sought initiation of contempt proceedings against those allegedly responsible, along with show-cause notices and directions for their personal appearance before the court.
