KARACHI
\nUnited Arab Emirates business magnate and Chairman of Al Zarooni Group, H.E Suhail Muhammad Al Zarooni, has called for expanding trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, saying the two countries have significant untapped potential in commerce, industry, real estate, technology, logistics and tourism. He highlighted the need for joint initiatives to strengthen bilateral ties through increased trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
\nSpeaking during his visit to Pakistan, Suhail Al Zarooni said stronger business-to-business links, simplified investment procedures and greater facilitation for investors could help increase bilateral trade and promote joint ventures.
\nHe emphasized that Emirati citizens hold Pakistan in high regard and share deep affection for the country, urging both sides to focus on fraternity and constructive diplomacy rather than being influenced by negative narratives or irresponsible social media content. \u201cThe UAE and Pakistan share decades of brotherhood, and it is vital to safeguard each other\u2019s interests, dignity and sentiments,\u201d he said.
\nHe called for new avenues of collaboration in trade, industry, real estate, technology, logistics and tourism, stressing that easing investment procedures and encouraging joint ventures could significantly boost bilateral trade.
\nSuhail Al Zarooni stressed the need for Pakistan to intensify efforts to attract tourists from Arab countries, particularly the Gulf region, by improving visa facilitation, tourism infrastructure and visitor services.
\nRecalling the 1980s, he said Pakistan had then emerged as an attractive destination for visitors from the UAE and other Gulf states, with many investing in property and spending across different sectors of the economy. He said the influx supported local businesses, created employment opportunities and increased consumer spending, benefiting ordinary Pakistanis.
\nSuhail Al Zarooni urged the government of Pakistan to develop a focused tourism strategy for the Gulf market to revive this lost economic opportunity and strengthen tourism-led activity in the country.
\nMr. Al Zarooni also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the Pakistani community in the UAE, alongside his philanthropic projects in Pakistan. \u201cMy relationship with the people of Pakistan is built on love, respect and service,\u201d he noted.
\nHighlighting Pakistan\u2019s rich natural and cultural heritage, he described the country as an attractive destination for Emirati tourists and investors. \u201cFrom mountains and valleys to coastal regions and historic landmarks, Pakistan offers immense tourism potential,\u201d he said, adding that stronger tourism exchanges would benefit both economies and bring the people of the two nations closer.
