\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan on Friday directed officials to expedite ongoing development projects in Kohat and ensure their completion within stipulated deadlines to improve public services and provide basic facilities to residents.
\nHe issued the directives while chairing a meeting of heads of relevant government departments at the Deputy Commissioner\u2019s Office. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir and other senior officials attended the meeting, said a handout.
\nThe meeting reviewed progress on new and ongoing development schemes in the district and discussed measures relating to public welfare and service delivery in various sectors.
\nOfficials briefed the minister on the status of development projects and the provision of public services.
\nMr Jan said timely completion of public-interest schemes was among the government\u2019s priorities and directed departments to fulfil their responsibilities efficiently.
\nHe called for avoiding unnecessary delays and completing ongoing projects on a priority basis.
\nThe minister also stressed the need for stronger monitoring to ensure quality construction and timely execution of development schemes.
\nHe said public funds were being spent on development projects and it was the responsibility of the relevant departments to ensure that their benefits reached people without unnecessary delay.
\nThe meeting also discussed measures to address public grievances and improve government service delivery.
\nMr Jan directed officials to strengthen coordination among departments and establish an effective mechanism for resolving public complaints.
\nHe said the purpose of development activities was not merely to complete projects but to improve living standards and provide better facilities to citizens.
