KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has declared the petition regarding relaxation in the rules related to recruitment of candidates in Counter Terrorism Department ( CTD) non maintainable. High court maintained in its decision there is no room for reducing the minimum passing marks or making them round off in the law. Counsel for the petitioner Naeem Hussain Shah told the court the candidate had completed written and physical tests successfully in 2017. Police took the plea the candidate could not obtain the minimum passing marks in interview. The counsel for the candidate said Naeem Hussain Shah was declared unsuccessful in interview only due to 1\/2 number. He took the plea the appointment of the candidates with less marks in written test gives impression of discrimination. The court maintained it cannot reduce or abolish the passing marks criterion in favor of any candidate. The court maintained showing flexibility for any one candidate will affect the rights of other candidates. Moreover the legal jurisdiction of powers cannot be used for creating new rights. SHC maintained that the court cannot change the opinion of interview board till the ill intent is proved on record. The success of other candidates with less numbers cannot become basis for granting exemption of half number to petitioner. ONLINE
\nThe court further remarked the process of appointment was started in 2016 while the petition has been filed after 9 years.
