\nAmbassador of Viet Nam to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan has said that Viet Nam\u2019s journey from independence to economic dynamism reflects the resilience, determination and sacrifices of generations of Vietnamese people, while expressing confidence in further strengthening friendship and cooperation with Pakistan.
\nAddressing a reception marking the 81st Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Ambassador said President Ho Chi Minh\u2019s proclamation of the Declaration of Independence in 1945 opened a new era of independence and self-determination for the Vietnamese nation.
\n\u201cOver the past 81 years, generations of Vietnamese have devoted their efforts and sacrifices to defending our independence, building our country, and pursuing a better and happier life for our people,\u201d he said.
\nThe Ambassador highlighted the transformative impact of Renovation Policy launched in 1986, saying Viet Nam had evolved from a lower middle income country into a dynamic and deeply integrated economy.
\nHe said Viet Nam currently maintained diplomatic relations with 194 countries and was an active member of more than 70 international and regional organizations, reaffirming the country\u2019s commitment to being a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community.

\nThe Ambassador said Viet Nam continued to emerge as a bright spot for economic growth in the region and the world. In 2025, the Vietnamese economy grew by more than 8 percent, its highest growth rate in over 15 years, while GDP exceeded US$514 billion and GDP per capita surpassed US$5,000.
\nThe envoy said foreign direct investment reached nearly US$40 billion, while the country\u2019s total import-export turnover crossed US$900 billion for the first time.
\n\u201cViet Nam is also becoming an increasingly attractive destination for high technology, digital industries and global supply chains,\u201d he added.
\nReferring to the successful 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the Ambassador said the country had set strategic directions for a new stage of development, with particular emphasis on innovation, digital transformation and sustainable growth.
\nHe said Viet Nam was determined to achieve its two centenary goals \u2014 becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.
\nTurning to bilateral relations, Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan said 2026 also marked 54 years of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Pakistan, noting that friendship and cooperation between the two countries had steadily expanded in politics, trade, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
\n\u201cOur two countries share many common aspirations. We both value national independence and sovereignty, pursue economic development and international integration, and seek greater prosperity for our peoples,\u201d he said.
\nThe Ambassador described Viet Nam as an important gateway for Pakistan to the dynamic ASEAN market of more than 680 million people, while Pakistan could serve as an important bridge for Viet Nam to South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East.

\nHe said trade had become one of the most dynamic areas of bilateral cooperation, with two-way trade reaching approximately US$850 million in 2025.
\n\u201cWe are now working together toward US$1 billion and beyond,\u201d he said, encouraging businesses from both countries to explore opportunities in sectors including electronics, chemicals and information technology and to establish direct, long-term partnerships.
\nThe Ambassador also highlighted the growing importance of culture and tourism in bringing the peoples of Viet Nam and Pakistan closer.
\nHe said that during the past year, the Vietnamese Embassy, in collaboration with Pakistani partners, had promoted cultural exchanges through the publication of President Ho Chi Minh\u2019s Prison Diary in Urdu, Vesak Day celebrations in Taxila, participation in the Viet Nam Pavilion at Lok Mela, the \u201cColors of Culture\u201d fashion show and participation in the Pakistan Travel Mart Expo to promote Viet Nam as a tourism destination.
\n\u201cThrough these activities, more and more people in our two countries are learning about each other\u2019s history, culture, literature and tourist attractions, helping to bring our peoples and Viet Nam-Pakistan relations even closer together,\u201d he said.
\nAs Viet Nam celebrated its 81st National Day, Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan said the country looked to the future with confidence and reaffirmed its commitment to peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
\nHe expressed sincere gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan, as well as international friends, for their friendship, support and cooperation with Viet Nam over the years.
\n\u201cMay the friendship between Viet Nam and Pakistan grow ever stronger, bringing greater prosperity to our peoples and contributing to peace and stability in our region,\u201d he said.
