ISLAMABAD: President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmad, on Saturday paid tribute to Pakistan\u2019s Armed Forces on Defence Day, praising their courage, professionalism and sacrifices for the country. In his message, Prof Alahmad said the day was an opportunity to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of Pakistan and its people. \u201cAs a Saudi and as the President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad, this tribute is deeply personal for me. Pakistan has come to feel like home,\u201d he said. Prof Alahmad said the recent Makkah Joint Defence Agreement had further strengthened the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He described the agreement as a symbol of the trust, brotherhood and shared commitment to security between the two countries. \u201cI cannot regard Pakistan\u2019s Armed Forces as Pakistan\u2019s alone; they are partners in our shared security,\u201d he said, adding that he saluted the armed forces with a deep sense of pride and fraternity.
