\nDistrict Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Waqar Ahmed has assured the family and supporters of abducted businessman Haji Muhammad Zarif Shinwari, alias Landi Haji, that the police are making progress in the investigation and that he would be recovered soon.
\nDPO Khyber Waqar Ahmad on Sunday visited the sit-in camp in Landikotal and met with the protesters. He said that police had reached important leads during the technical investigation and had subsequently managed to trace and arrest seven suspects allegedly linked to the kidnapping case.
\n\u201cDuring the technical investigation, we reached the hotspot and then succeeded in reaching the suspects. Seven people have been arrested, and Haji Muhammad Zarif Shinwari, alias Landai Haji, will soon be among you, Insha\u2019Allah,\u201d DPO Waqar Ahmed told the protesters.
\nThe police officer said investigators were working on the case from different angles and were trying to reach the main mastermind behind the kidnapping. He added that efforts were underway to identify and dismantle the entire network allegedly involved in the abduction.
\nThe DPO further assured the protesters that the police were taking the matter seriously and were utilizing available investigative and technical resources to secure the safe recovery of the kidnapped businessman.
\nFollowing the assurance, members of Haji Zarif Shinwari\u2019s family and other participants of the sit-in thanked the DPO for visiting them and for sharing details about the progress made in the investigation.
\nThe family and local residents have been holding the protest to demand the safe and immediate recovery of Haji Muhammad Zarif Shinwari, whose alleged abduction had sparked concern among traders and residents of Landikotal.
\nMeanwhile, the sit-in was continues for 31 day where a largec umber of residents,political activists, human rights campaigners,PTM leaders and local elders participating in the ongoing sit-in.
\nA meeting of tribal elders and political parties leaders was also held at Quba Mosque in Landikotal where they discussed the law and order situation in Landikotal. The meeting set Friday deadline for the safe recovery of the trader.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
