\nPolice on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four men for their alleged involvement in the rape of two women in Garhi Mausam Khan area of Rehman Baba police station limits.
\nCapital City Police said the FIR was registered on Sunday, Sept 6, on the complaint of a local resident. The case was registered under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection Act, police said.
\nAccording to police, the complainant alleged that the four suspects subjected his two wives to sexual assault.
\nFollowing the registration of the case, SSP Operations Farhan Khan and SSP Investigation constituted special teams under SP Saddar Division to arrest the accused.
\n\u201cSpecial investigation teams led by DSP Rehman Baba and SHO Rehman Baba conducted raids and, using technical and scientific evidence, arrested all four suspects within hours,\u201d the police statement said.
\nPolice also recovered a weapon allegedly used in the incident from the arrested men.
\nThe crime scene was examined in detail and forensic evidence was collected and secured for further analysis, officials said.
\n\u201cThe investigation is being conducted on a priority basis. All legal requirements will be completed to ensure exemplary punishment for those involved. There will be no negligence in this case,\u201d SSP Operations Farhan Khan said.
\nSSP Investigation said the case was being pursued in accordance with the law and that the police were committed to ensuring the safety and protection of women.
