\nFarah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Heritage and Culture inaugurated a photo exhibition titled \u201cFrames of Freedom\u201d organized at the Art Gallery of the COMSATS University Islamabad on Wednesday.
\nFeaturing more than 50 exhibits, the display presents diverse visual perspectives on Pakistan\u2019s cultural heritage, historic architecture, natural landscapes, people, traditions, and everyday life. The exhibition seeks to celebrate the country\u2019s national spirit while encouraging reflection on the relationship between people, places, memory, and identity.
\nMs. Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, while speaking at the occasion appreciated the University\u2019s efforts for providing a platform to celebrate Pakistan\u2019s cultural and natural heritage through photography and commended the participating photographers for their creativity and distinctive perspectives. She said that there was a need to promote a soft image of Pakistan and channel the talent of our youth towards capturing Pakistan\u2019s heritage and rich culture for future generations.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, appreciated the photographers\u2019 efforts for presenting compelling visual interpretations of Pakistan. He observed that photography can transcend documentation to become a powerful medium for creative expression, reflection, and cultural dialogue.
\nHe emphasized the important role of universities in fostering artistic creativity, intellectual inquiry, and meaningful engagement with cultural heritage, and congratulated the photographers for presenting a thoughtful visual celebration of Pakistan.
\nThe exhibition features works by Fida Muhammad, Khurram Bhatti, Meezan Ali Mir, Muhammad Asad Ali, Muhammad Junaid, Raheela Mushtaq, Saima Salahuddin (Aimon), Sohaina Elia, Suriyya Choudhary, and Tahmeena Javaid Adeel. Coming from diverse academic backgrounds, the photographers bring individual approaches shaped by observation, experience, inquiry, and creative expression.
\nCurated by Farrah Mahmood Rana, \u201cFrames of Freedom\u201d places particular emphasis on spaces, architecture, and nature, exploring the relationship between Pakistan\u2019s built and natural environments.
