Renowned politician, Mushahid Hussain Syed has stressed the urgent need for Pakistan to reconnect with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah\u2019s vision, saying that adherence to constitutional supremacy, the rule of law, equality, social justice, human rights and education is vital to addressing the country\u2019s present challenges and securing a stronger, more democratic and prosperous future.
\nAddressing a symposium on \u201cQuaid-e-Azam\u2019s Vision and Present-Day Pakistan\u201d at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), he said Quaid-e-Azam envisioned a sovereign, strong, democratic and prosperous Pakistan where the Constitution and law prevailed and every citizen enjoyed equality, dignity, human rights and religious freedom.
\nMushahid Hussain Syed said that education, protection of human rights, empowerment and meaningful participation of women and the elimination of corruption must be made national priorities to translate Quaid-e-Azam\u2019s vision into reality.
\nHe emphasized that Pakistan\u2019s strength, stability and progress depend on sincerely implementing the principles laid down by its founder.
\nSpeaking at the symposium, Prof. Dr Riaz Ahmad said that Quaid-e-Azam united the Muslims of the subcontinent and paved the way for the creation of an independent homeland.
\nHe said Quaid-e-Azam\u2019s vision continues to serve as a guiding light for Pakistan\u2019s development, stability and prosperity.
\nConstitutional supremacy, the rule of law, strong institutions and national unity, he added, are essential for building a strong and dignified Pakistan.
\nProf. Dr Abdul Aziz Sahir said that the youth of today are the true custodians of the thoughts and ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
\nHe urged young people to study the lives, struggles and teachings of these great leaders and play an effective role in the development and progress of the country.
\nDean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr Syed Aamir Shah said that unity, faith and discipline are the fundamental principles of Quaid-e-Azam that need to be followed today more than ever.
\nHe urged students to make Quaid-e-Azam\u2019s teachings part of their practical lives and contribute to Pakistan\u2019s progress through hard work, honesty and responsibility.
\nHe also thanked Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood for organizing the symposium.
\nThe symposium was jointly organized by the Iqbal Chair for Muslim and Sufi Thoughts, Department of History and Directorate of Student Advisory and Counseling Services.
