ISLAMABAD
\nChief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has said change has been made in code of conduct to free judges from external pressure.
\nHe said this while addressing national conference with reference to reforms and provision of speedy justice to people .
\nHe urged that all institutions should discharge their obligations in befitting manner and young judges should ensure dispensation of justice in the best way.
\nHe remarked district courts serve as back bone in justice system.
\nConnectivity between district courts and high court will have to be further fortified.
\nHe said the requirements of judiciary will be met for comprehensive justice system.
\nHe directed all the respective persons should perform their duties in honest way.
\nHe told that courts are being shifted to solar system. The best internet facilities will be provided to judiciary. Work is underway to provide E-Libraries facility to courts.
\nHe said work is underway on basic necessities including solar in all the tehsils and districts of Balochistan. Work is being done to provide Sahulat centers for women and children.
\nHe underlined rule of justice is need of hour.
\nHe presented salute to the judges who rendered sacrifice of lives on the way to administration of justice.
\nI am proud of subordinate judiciary , he said adding decision has been taken to extend facility of health insurance to judicial officers all over the country.
\nHe said the public trust is not achieved through inheritance. It is achieved through honesty.
\nUnderstanding the ground realities is must for reforms in judicial system.
\nHe observed only Rs 900 million were released during 20 years in the past for X-2 justice program.
\nHe said empowering the judges of subordinate judiciary is objective of judiciary for the sake of trust of the people.
\nThe judges of subordinate judiciary are discharging their responsibilities despite difficulties. We are grateful to provincial government in providing facilities of clean drinking water, solar and internet in subordinate judiciary.
\nHe held there was lack of connectivity between district judiciary and policy making institutions.
