{"id":567173,"date":"2026-09-14T01:48:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T20:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=567173"},"modified":"2026-09-14T01:48:00","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T20:48:00","slug":"ji-sit-in-against-petroleum-price-hike-levy-tax-continues-at-bab-e-khyber","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/ji-sit-in-against-petroleum-price-hike-levy-tax-continues-at-bab-e-khyber\/","title":{"rendered":"JI sit-in against petroleum price hike, levy tax continues at Bab-e-Khyber"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> KHYBER<br \/>\nA protest sit-in organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber chapter against the increase in petroleum product prices and petroleum levy tax continued at the historic Bab-e-Khyber in Jamrud, Khyber district, on Sunday.<br \/>\nA number of JI workers including Khyber Amir Shah Faisal Afridi, Jamrud Amir Gul Muhammad Afridi, Landi Kotal leaders Murad Hussain Afridi, Abdurrauf Shinwari, Hasan Shinwari, Zia-ul-Haq and Khan Wali Afridi participated in the sit-in.<br \/>\nAddressing the protesters, I Khyber Amir Shah Faisal Afridi warned the Shehbaz Sharif-led government to stop what he described as \u201cextortion\u201d from the people in the name of petroleum levy and reduce the prices of petroleum products or be prepared for September 20, that a \u201csea of people\u201d would march towards Islamabad under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur- Rehman.<br \/>\nThe people would no longer be allowed to be burdened with unjust taxes and price hikes, Afridi remarked.<br \/>\nHe maintained, when the party takes a stand on an issue, it pursues it until it reaches its logical conclusion.<br \/>\nHe warned the government to either announce a reduction in petroleum prices and withdrawal of the levy tax or face public resistance, claiming that the \u201coppressive government\u201d would eventually be forced to go home.<br \/>\nIt is to be mentioned here that JI is also making preparations for its planned march towards Islamabad on September 20 2029.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KHYBER A protest sit-in organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber chapter against the increase in petroleum product prices and petroleum levy tax continued at the historic Bab-e-Khyber in Jamrud, Khyber district, on Sunday.
