\nThe strong response by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has highlighted an important principle: the sacrifice of a soldier cannot be reduced to a salary, a job, or a professional obligation. Military service may be a profession, but the willingness to lay down one\u2019s life for the nation represents a commitment that goes far beyond financial compensation.
\nThe families of martyrs endure a loss that no financial assistance or official recognition can fully compensate for. It requires effective governance, economic progress, justice, political stability, and mutual respect among its institutions and citizens. Yet none of these aspirations diminishes the importance of those who have died defending the country.
\nThe honour of martyrs should never become a tool for political point-scoring. Nor should their sacrifices be dismissed in the heat of political argument. Their memory belongs to the nation, and their families deserve the assurance that their loss will be treated with compassion and respect.
