According to market sources on Thursday, LPG is being sold at Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram in different areas of the provincial capital. The price of a 12-kilogram cylinder has risen to Rs7,800. The official LPG rate is Rs279 per kilogram, meaning consumers are paying Rs271 to Rs371 more per kilogram than the notified price. Market sources said LPG is available at Rs550 per kilogram in Gulberg, Nothia and Swati Phatak, while prices have reached Rs600 per kilogram in Dalazak Road, Momin Town, Gulbahar, Haji Camp, Hayatabad and the inner city.
