\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa province would get Rs 36 billion under net hydel profit by June this year against the total set target of Rs 65 billion, said KP Finance Minister, Taimoor Salim Jhagra told a press conference here.
\nHe said that the provincial government had set the target of Rs 65 billion under net hydel profit but the low power generation affected the profit by Rs 9 billion, however the province has so far received Rs 20 billion while by June this year Rs 36 billion is being expected.
\nReferring to National Finance Commission award, the Minister said discussion on NFC was progressing positive and no federating unit had so far turned down the suggestion to contribute three percent of its NFC share for the merged districts, however their concerns and reservations to this effect would be addressed, he added.
\n\u201cKP government is defending the rights of the province relating to NFC above party politics,\u201d he maintained.
\nJhagra said the federal government has assured to also provide special funds for merged districts in next financial year as the budget for these areas would now be prepared by the provincial government.
\nHe told that out of a total Rs 24 billion annual development program for the merged districts, Rs 17 billion had been released while Rs 10 billion had been released from Prime Minister\u2019s special grant, adding the federal government has assured to release the fourth installment for the merged district.
\nHe said the amount allocated for development in the merged districts would get doubled in the next fiscal year.
\nThe Minister said the government has so far released Rs 119 billion out of a total 181 billion\u2019s ADP. The priority of provincial government was mega projects and the schemes near completion.
\nJhagra said that Rs 2 billion have been allocated for Haripur Technical University in next year. \u201cWe are endeavoring to improve ADP of coming year besides increasing capability of KP Revenue Authority.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
