Malakand Customs Act issue to be resolved soon<\/p>\n
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that the role of lawyers community, apart from their professional commitments of appearing to contest cases before courts also encompasses the responsibilities of educating and guiding the masses which indeed will be a great contribution towards further cementing the ongoing efforts of the government to enable the nation to pace with the rest of the world community as its honourable member.
\nAddressing the oath taking ceremony of the Peshawar Bar Association at Nishtar Hall Peshawar on Saturday, the Governor said, the role of lawyers in educating the people and dispensing justice whether it is required for providing justice to individuals or different segments of societies is also very important. Beside others, the ceremony was also attended by Deputy Attorney General Manzoor Khalil, President Peshawar Bar Association Amjad Ali Khan advocate.
\nHe said that the restoration of peace and normalcy in entire country; this Province and FATA in particular in true sense is beyond doubt a most challenging task but we have taken over this responsibility as a sacred trust to achieve it. By the grace of God peace has been resorted as a result of great sacrifices rendered by our patriotic tribesmen, security forces and people of the province as well.
\nGovernor said, now is the time to maintain the supremacy of law and constitution; safeguard our freedom as a democratic nation. Maintenance of the writ of the state at every cost and at everywhere in the country is the best way to make this possible, which indeed is subject to maintaining unflinching belief in joint efforts of all the respective institutions.
\nLater on, the Governor took oath from the newly elected cabinet members of the Peshawar Bar Association. INP reported.
\nmean while The Governor congratulated the newly elected cabinet members of Peshawar Bar Association and announced Rs 1.5 million for the Bar.
\nGovernor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said the KP government has forwarded the summary about withdrawal of implementation of Customs Act in Malakand division to the President of Pakistan without any delay and hoped the issue would be resolved very soon.
\nHe was talking to a 27-member delegation from Malakand Division led by Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Maqam at the Governor\u2019s House on Saturday.
\nBeside others, Swat District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah, Member Provincial Assembly Rashad Khan, Qaimoos Khan, Sarzamin Khan, Malik Jehanzeb Khan, tehsil nazims and leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Malakand division were also present on the occasion.
\nThe delegation apprised the governor of the grievances of the people of Malakand Division about implementation of Customs Act in the area.
\nThe governor assured his full support to resolve the issue smoothly and on priority basis.
\nIt is to be mentioned here that the people in Malakand division have been protesting against the extension of the Customs Act for the last few months. A shutdown was observed throughout the division on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
