\nThe Planning and Development Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued its eight months performance report. According to its report, the Mandate\/functions of the P&D Department are Strategic planning for provincial economy, Formulation of Annual Development Programme, Appraisal and review of Projects, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Management of Foreign Development Assistance Donors Coordination, Management of Provincial Statistics, Lead Provincial representation in National Development Forums, Coordination \/ implementation of Reforms Agenda, Resolution of Inter-Departmental issues, Consolidation\/Prioritization\/clearance of PSDP Projects, Regular meetings of PDWP to approve new portfolio, Project Steering Committee\/Board Meetings and CDWP & ECNEC Meetings.
\nAbout the Performance of the P & D department, the report stated that P&D Department has been actively involved in approval of ADP 2018-19 of Merged Areas having a size of Rs. 20.4 billion and has integrated the same with the development program of the Province.
\nSo far, 78 developmental schemes have been approved by the PDWP. The Department has ensured financial allocation for 371 schemes of ADP of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which are due for completion in 2018-19 which targets functionalization of 2335 facilities such as schools, hospital, roads etc. The focus of the P&D Department had also been on Ten Years Development Plan of Merged Districts with regard to its review and consultation with departments, international partners and other key stakeholders, The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated a project titled \u201cEstablishment of Centralized GIS System\u201d in the P&D Department to mainstream the process of allocating resources to the developmental funds on merit basis.
\nUnder the scheme a Centralised GIS System is established to ensure suitable site selection for each and every developmental scheme, by using modern techniques of GIS. The process of digitization of different sectors has already been initiated while the rest are in process of its completion. Main objectives of the project is to avoid duplication of work and to ensure distribution of funds according to the will of public and need basis. The GIS hub has also developed FORSEE Prototype for Elementary & Secondary Education, P&D Department has finalized first Investment Policy with the aim to provide equal opportunities for local and foreign investors, improved governance and transfer of technology and Human Resource.
\nIt was also informed that P&D Department has been progressing on the Public Private Partnership concept and Public Investment Management Plan, Considerable preparatory works has been for undertaking Voluntary National Review for achievement of SDGs, Rashakai Special Economic Zone has been finalized under CPEC.
\n, The Department has been actively moving towards finalization of Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) 2019-2023, encompassing the five years sectoral plans of the departments, integration of local and donor assistance, setting measurable targets of each sector in line with their sectoral strategies and focussing on human development through investment in Social Sectors and Job creation through investment in the growth sectors.<\/p>\n
This strategy will be launched in early May, 2019, So far 232 schemes have been approved in 14 meetings of PDWP including 78 schemes of Merged Areas, 938 M&E reports have been generated, 400 feedbacks reports have been received, 282 follow up monitoring visits have been made and Annual M&E Report 2017-18 has been disseminated and Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) 2016-17 has been published with other important statistical reports by the Bureau of Statistics working under the P&D Department<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
