\nOne terrorist involved in attack on a polio vaccination team in Buner was killed, while another was arrested after an encounter with police on Tuesday.
\nOne policeman was also injured in the clash. Police said a search operation was being carried out in Jangdara, Tor Warsak area of Buner after information was received that terrorists involved in attack on polio vaccination team were present there. The terrorists after seeing the police party opened fire on them, leaving the intelligence in-charge Waris Khan injured. Waris Khan was immediately shifted to hospital.
\nPolice said reinforcements were called after firing by the terrorists. The terrorists again opened fire on police when they got close to them. In the retaliatory firing, one terrorist was killed, while another was arrested. The arrested terrorist was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
\nOn last Wednesday, a policeman performing security duty with a polio vaccination team in Buner was shot dead by unidentified armed men.
\nPolice said constable Zafar was performing security duty with a polio vaccination team in Ghlo Tangi, Tor Warsak area when unidentified armed men opened fire on him, leaving him critically injured. The injured constable succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to hospital. Other members of the vaccination team remained safe in the attack.
\nThe attack in Buner happened a day after an assistant sub-inspector of police was shot dead in a similar attack in Bannu. ASI Imran was performing security duty with a vaccination team near Bacha Khan Chowk when unidentified armed men opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.
\nThe attacks in Bannu and Buner were followed by attack on a vaccination team in Balochistan where a female polio worker was shot dead.
\nMeanwhile, Babar bin Atta, Prime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s focal person on polio eradication, mentioned the operation in Buner in a tweet and appreciated the Buner Police over their professionalism.

In an operation personally led by Buner Police Chief, one terrorist has been killed whereas second is under arrest,\u201d he said in a tweet.
