Islamabad(PR):The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) while expressing satisfaction over initiatives of the government to empower women has asked the government to take additional steps to empower women.
\nGovernment should fight hunger and poverty by empowering women who have limited opportunities to fly high, said Abdul Rauf Alam, President FPCCI.
\nSpeaking to the representatives of Lahore Women Chamber and Islamabad Women Chamber, he said that year after year more women are entering into a world of unemployment with limited options.
\nHe said that most of the women who enter into business with no experience face losses which is very discouraging for new players.
\nUnderlining the importance of grants, microloans and training, Abdul Rauf Alam said such moves can help young women learn economic skills and launch small businesses successfully.
\nGovernment, business community, NGOs and banking sector should realise that prosperity is tied to empowerment of women, he added.
\nThe president of FPCCI said that fighting poverty to eradicate hunger is only possible if government undertake a well-funded women empowerment plan to across the country. He also demanded projects to help women learn networking, business planning, marketing, financial record-keeping and banking skills.
\nHe asked the experienced businesswomen to pair with new to provide guidance and counselling creating a bond of female solidarity that is integral to success as sustainable, women-centred strategies should be adopted to end hunger and inequality.
\nEmpowering women to participate in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities, said Alam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
